Apple stores in India, finally!

PM Narendra Modi’s recent meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook has shown some results. Apple will open six of it’s signature stores in India, out of which five will be located in Mumbai and one in Bangalore. Up till now, Apple sells in India through resellers like Imagine Apple, Reliance iStores and Redignton.

The upcoming Apple Stores will have all the iconic features like the glass and wooden finishing. The staff will also be trained by Apple.

Modi’s trip to the US has garnered interest from major technology giants. It was discussed Apple will give manufacturing in India a thought. China based manufacturer Foxconn will set its foot onĀ Indian soil and it is highly likely it will manufacture iPhone and other Apple devices here. Minister of communication Ravishankar Prasad has invited Apple to open a R&D centre in India.

Hope to see the prices ease a bit.
